 Recover Data Easy to use and seems to find a lot of the files lost after an inadvertent partition of a vfat drive. However I can do similar things with Testdisk and Photorec, which are GPL tools.

 I had a SATA external disk damaged by an accidental power off and wanted to repair it. I downloaded DRW and attempted to use it. I did not understand that it would not actually save the files unless I had registered. This is not an unreasonable policy but it would be nice to tell people that when the program starts. Single Worst Program I`ve Ever Purchased I purchased Phoenix CDRom 5 months ago. After numerous emails with Stellar, I was finally able to install without getting the message "This is a demo versio ... you need to purchase the working version." I used it one time in an attempt to recover data from a CD. It couldn't recover anything I couldn't read with Windows Explorer, but at least I didn't feel like I totally got screwed out of $79.That is until I tried to recover another CD. The "This is a demo version" message was back! This is the single worst program I've ever purchased. I don't understand ...
